WARNINGThe automatic-on headlamp feature provides increased visibility of the rider to other motorists. Be sure headlamp is on at all times. Poor visibility of rider to other motorists can result in death or serious injury. (00030b)
Check headlamp for proper height and lateral alignment:
- When the new owner takes delivery of the motorcycle.
- When there is a change in load (adding luggage, etc.).
- Refer to Specifications → Specifications: 2007 VRSC Models → Tire Pressures: 2007 VRSC Models. Verify correct front and rear tire pressure.
- Place motorcycle on level floor (or pavement) in an area with minimum light.
- See Figure 1. Position motorcycle 7.6 m (25 ft) away from a screen or wall. Measure the vertical distance from center of headlamp to floor, and draw a horizontal line (2) 0.9 m (35 in.) on screen or wall at same height above floor.

| 1. | Load vehicle with rider, passenger (if normally present) and any cargo. Weight will compress vehicle suspension slightly. | |
| 2. | Stand motorcycle upright with both tires resting on floor and with front wheel held in straight alignment (directly forward). | |
| 3. | See Figure 2. Turn ignition switch ON. Set handlebar headlamp switch to HIGH beam position. | |
| 4. | Check lamp beam for alignment. | |
| 5. | See Figure 3 or Figure 4. If adjustment is required: a. Loosen left and right fasteners. b. Move headlamp assembly to adjust vertical alignment. c. Tighten fasteners. For VRSCD/VRSCDX models, tighten to 31–41 N·m (23–30 ft-lbs). For all other VRSC models, tighten to 4.5–7.5 N·m (40–66 in-lbs). |
