Regarding the manufacturer's warranty
Harley-Davidson Japan (HDJ) imports from Harley-Davidson Main company (USA). Harley-Davidson's motorcycles, which are delivered through
Harley-Davidson Japan (HDJ)'s official distribution network, are accompanied by a Manufacturer's warranty that guaranties long-term security.
By filling out the given documents ("S.W.R. Warranty registration Form), the 36-month (regardless of mileage) warranty for the motorcycle's main unit becomes effective from the date of the first registration at the Land Transportation Office.
However, depending on the date of the first registration, the warranty period might be shortened.
Please read the later-mentioned warranty provisions for details.
Receive the S.W.R. Warranty registration form (A registration form confirming the sale and the warranty) from the
HDJ's official distribution network store where you made the purchase, promptly fill out the required information, and then hand it in to the
HDJ's official distribution network store.
Warranty Card
This certificate is to verify that you are the owner of a Harley-Davidson ® motorcycle and have the right to receive warranty repairs. It contains your name and address, the frame number that will be the individual number of your motorcycle, and the warranty expiration date.
Please store this warranty card carefully as it is absolutely necessary when receiving warranty services in
HDJ's official distribution network.
The warranty card is issued after the details of the "S.W.R Warranty registration form" and the "Warranty transfer certificate" are registered.
Please inform the
HDJ's official distribution network store if you need to receive warranty repairs before receiving the warranty card.
Warranty and Maintenance
The warranty provisions for the motorcycle you have purchased are written in this manual.
Also, please use the information in this paper regarding the warranty and maintenance of the purchased motorcycle.
Please conduct 12-month/24-month inspections as well as periodic inspections for each mileage based on regular maintenance and the maintenance procedures and rules described in this paper, as this is your duty as an owner.
If you don't receive all assigned maintenance services, the warranty becomes invalid.
Regarding the warranty and the owner registration
Please bring the inspection maintenance record, when you visit the store from the official distribution network for the 12-month/24-month inspection maintenance, the first vehicle inspection on the 36th month, the vehicle inspections every 24 months after that, as well as the designated inspections and maintenance for every mileage.
This will be proof that you have received maintenance services during the warranty period.
When receiving maintenance services for the first inspection and during periodic inspections, the record of inspection maintenance implemented at a
HDJ official distribution store will be proof that a proper maintenance was conducted, so please store it carefully.
Please keep the receipts for any other services and maintenance you have received as well.
If the motorcycle is transferred in the future, please transfer all these records together with it.
Please do not use parts or accessories other than the ones authorized by Harley-Davidson.

The stores from the
HDJ official distribution network have separate capital and management from Harley-Davidson, so it is possible for them to sell parts and accessories that the said company has not manufactured or authorized.
The company cannot guarantee in any way the non-Harley-Davidson parts, accessories, or design changes (including the work) that these stores sell or install.
Please do not use non-genuine parts or customized front forks.
This might negatively affect the performance or handling.
Do not neglect the inspections and maintenance
NOTE
Removing or remodeling of the genuine parts installed at the time of factory shipment might not only negatively affect the performance, but can also lead to fatal accidents or serious injuries. (0001a)
All the types of inspections described in this paper are the minimum requirements for safe and pleasant use.
If a malfunction occurs as a result of these inspections being neglected or performed inadequately, or if points 1 to 6 in the "≥" are not observed, we cannot provide the warranty repairs.
Regarding the first inspection
The first inspection of the motorcycle you have purchased is the first "Doctor's check" to maintain its excellent condition forever.
Please ask an official
HDJ distribution network store for it after approximately 1 month of running.
Please undergo the first inspection about 1 month after the new vehicle registration.
However, even if 1 month has not passed, if the mileage has reached 800 km (500 mi), please undergo the first inspection at that time.

If you cannot undergo the first inspection, not only will the new vehicle warranty become invalid, but the function/performance of the motorcycle may be damaged and its durability may be seriously affected.

If you use too many electricity-powered accessories, the charging system of the motorcycle might overload.
If you use too many accessories simultaneously and their electricity consumption surpasses the charging ability of the motorcycle, the battery might be completely discharged, which might lead to damage in the electric power system of the motorcycle.
Regarding address or name changes

If there has been a change in the recorded details, such as address or name, please contact a

If there is a change in the name of the holder accompanying the warranty transfer, you will have to undergo an inspection corresponding to the 24-month inspection determined by Harley-Davidson.

Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Warranty Provisions
Warranty content
HDJ guarantees implementation of free repair or replacement of malfunctions in production or material quality that have occurred under normal usage conditions of the purchased vehicle for new purchasers or subsequent purchasers of a 2020 model motorcycle according to the following provisions.
Furthermore, Harley-Davidson will gain possession of the replaced parts.
Warranty period and application after resale
The period when you can receive warranty repairs is as described below.
However, if the first record was made after August 1, 2023, the warranty period is until July 31, 2026.
The motorcycle warranty that
HDJ offers is also applied in cases where the vehicle is being resold during the warranty period. However, if the holder of the automobile inspection certificate is changed, you will need to process the warranty transfer in
HDJ's official distribution network.
Also, during the proceedings, you will have to undergo an inspection corresponding to the 24-month inspection determined by Harley-Davidson.
Furthermore, this work is different from warranty repair work, so the cost will be paid separately.
Warranty Enactment
This warranty comes into effect going back to the new record date of the automobile inspection certificate when the necessary information in the "S.W.R. Warranty registration form", issued by
HDJ, is filled in and signed at
HDJ's official distribution network, signed by the purchaser, and then accepted by
HDJ.
Receiving warranty repairs
When you are receiving warranty repairs, it is your responsibility to bring the vehicle to
HDJ's official distribution network store during regular working hours (the transportation cost, etc. is covered by the client), and present the warranty card, the automobile inspection certificate, and the documents proving the implementation of the periodic inspections. Afterwards, you can order the warranty repair.
The warranty application propriety will be determined after the vehicle has been inspected at
HDJ's official distribution network store.
Furthermore, we are trying to implement the warranty repairs as soon as possible, but depending on the service garage and inventory state of the store, there might be cases when the repair cannot be carried out immediately.
Matters to be observed by the client
In order for the warranty to be valid, you need to observe the following:
NOTE
If the holder of the automobile inspection certificate changes, a warranty card for the new owner or user is required.
Keep the warranty card.
Appropriate use according to the handling methods described in the Owner's Manual issued by
HDJ.
Implement the regular inspections determined in Section 4, Article 47-2 of the Road Transport Vehicle Law.
Implement the legal periodic inspections determined in Section 4, Article 48 of the Road Transport Vehicle Law as well as the periodic inspection required by
HDJ and described in the Owner's Manual.
Replace the regular replacement parts according to the instructions in "Periodic inspection".
Keep documents proving the implementation of periodic inspections.
Items that cannot be guaranteed
(1) A warranty repair cannot be offered if a malfunction is determined to be caused by one of the following:
Inadequate or improper implementation of maintenance/services.
Remodeling that has not been approved by the law or by
HDJ.
Vehicles with performed remodeling that does not conform to the safety standards, or cases where because of such remodeling the vehicle condition cannot be verified by a test drive at
HDJ's official distribution network.
Cases where an exhaust system other than the Harley-Davidson muffler installed at the time of factory shipment is installed, and conformance to the safety standards cannot be verified by
HDJ's official distribution network.
Using parts different from the genuine Harley-Davidson parts and oils or gasoline other than the ones designated by
HDJ.
Using off-road or racing performance parts.
Using parts developed/manufactured and sold by
HDJ's official distribution network.
Usage that is different from the handling methods described in the prints explaining the operation procedures, such as the Owner's Manual. Also, usage that passes the limitation of the methods indicated by
HDJ. (Maximum loading capacity, riding capacity, speed, engine rotation speed, etc.)
Usage at competitions, including races, abusing the original purpose of the motorcycle, as well as usage at places besides roads where vehicles do not usually run.
Malfunctions caused by accidents, such as crashes or over-turning.
Malfunctions caused by natural disasters, such as earthquakes, typhoons and floods, or by fire.
Malfunctions caused by external factors, such as soot and smoke, chemicals, bird feces, salt damage, etc.
Malfunctions caused by aging, such as wear and tear from usage or rust.
External malfunctions caused by inappropriate usage, lack of appropriate maintenance, or environmental conditions (excluding malfunctions caused by the production or material quality, for which this warranty's provisions apply).
Malfunctions caused by inappropriate storage.
Phenomena, such as brake noises, resonance noises from the engine or the frame that generally do not affect the function, but are simply sensory ones.
Formation of condensation or dirt due to natural phenomena or environmental conditions.
Secondary malfunctions caused by continued usage of the vehicle even after an abnormality has been discovered.
Malfunctions that occurred due to not following the "Matters to be observed by the client " mentioned above in section 5.
(2) The expenses for the following items are not included in the warranty repair.
Consumables and oils.
Defects in the exterior parts and rust (excluding the items requested from and approved by
HDJ by
HDJ's official distribution network before registration).
Parts other than the Harley-Davidson genuine parts.
Periodic inspection maintenance appointed by the law and
HDJ, as well as all other inspections, tuning, and cleaning.
Inspections or maintenance which accompany the vehicle inspection test as determined by the law.
Repairs outside the
HDJ's official distribution network.
Incidental or consequent losses, such as telephone bills, collecting expenses, travel expenses, compensation for absence from work, losses derived from the inability to use the said vehicle, inconvenience, or business losses.
Other
This warranty guarantees free repairs based on the period and conditions stated in this document. Repairs for malfunctions which occur after the warranty period expiration will require payment.
However that excludes cases of recall.
Warranty provisions for genuine parts & accessories installed in a new Harley-Davidson vehicle
Warranty content
HDJ guarantees that it will implement free repair or replacement of malfunctions in genuine parts & accessories bought together with a new 2020 model motorcycle and properly installed in
HDJ's official distribution network that were caused by the production or material quality and occurred under normal usage conditions for new purchasers or subsequent purchasers according to the following provisions.
The subjects of the warranty are restricted to the items indicated with "3-year warranty" in the 2020 and later editions of the "Genuine parts and accessories catalog" and "New product news".
Parts & accessories not conforming to the safety standards, or ones that do, but are installed after the delivery of the new vehicle are not subjects of the warranty.
Furthermore,
HDJ will gain possession of the replaced parts.
Warranty period and transfer

The warranty of the genuine parts & accessories installed in the new vehicle that

Warranty Enactment
Conforms to Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Warranty Provisions.
As for the genuine parts & accessories that couldn't be installed because they were out of stock when the new vehicle was delivered, the warranty will become valid when they are later properly installed at
HDJ's official distribution network.
However, the warranty period becomes identical to that of the vehicle.
Receiving warranty repairs
When you are receiving warranty repairs, it is your responsibility to bring the vehicle to
HDJ's official distribution network store during regular working hours (the transportation cost, etc. is covered by the client), and present the warranty card, the automobile inspection certificate, and the documents proving the implementation of the periodic inspections. Afterwards, you can order the warranty repair.
Furthermore, depending on the service garage and inventory state of the store, there might be cases when the repair cannot be carried out immediately.
Matters to be observed by the client

Malfunctions caused by accidents, such as crashes or over-turning.
Malfunctions caused by natural disasters, such as earthquakes, typhoons and floods, or by fire.
Malfunctions caused by external factors, such as soot and smoke, chemicals, bird feces, salt damage, etc.

Parts that do not conform to the safety standards appointed in the Road Transport Vehicle Law
Screaming Eagle performance parts
Maintenance supplies (oils, chemicals, tools, motorcycle covers, plugs, filters, belts, battery chargers, etc.)
Consumables (valves, brake pads, gaskets)
Parts that are not subject to the warranty for genuine parts & accessories installed in a new Harley-Davidson vehicle.
Parts purchased outside of the
HDJ's official distribution network
(3) The following parts conform to warranty provisions determined separately from the 3-year warranty for new vehicle installation.

(4) The expenses for the following things cannot be considered subject of the warranty.
Periodic inspection maintenance appointed by the law and
