Heated hand grips can be operated using the heated hand grip control, Figure 1 , or through the Infotainment Control Unit (IFCU). Refer to Infotainment Control Unit (IFCU) Operation → Bike Functions.
See Figure 1. Models with heated hand grips have a variable heat control push button on the end of the left-hand grip.
Push the button once to turn on the heated hand grips. Push again (up to three times) to increase the heat. Refer to Operation → Instruments → IFCU Indicators. The heated hand grip icon (4) in the IFCU displays the heat setting. Refer to Table 1. Push once more to turn off the heated hand grips.
The hand grips are thermostatically-controlled, providing a constant grip temperature regardless of changes in the outside temperature. To prevent battery drain, heated hand grips should only be used while the engine is running.
The sensor for thermostatic control is housed in the left-hand grip. Maintaining consistent hand contact with both left and right-hand grips produces the most consistent results. If the hand grips are not producing heat, see Troubleshooting → HEATED HAND GRIPS.
NOTE
Allow approximately 20 minutes for grips to reach final operating temperature.
