1.	See Maintenance → INSPECT BATTERY → Install → Battery Box. Remove battery box cover (2). a. Remove battery box cover screw (1). b. Open battery box cover.
2.	See Maintenance → INSPECT BATTERY → Install → Battery Removal. Disconnect security siren connector (8), if equipped.
3.	Position battery (7) to the open edge of the battery box.
	WARNING Disconnect negative (-) battery cable first. If positive (+) cable should contact ground with negative (-) cable connected, the resulting sparks can cause a battery explosion, which could result in death or serious injury. (00049a)
4.	Disconnect negative battery cable (3). a. Remove negative terminal screw (2). b. Position negative battery cable (3) out-of-way. c. Remove negative nut (4).
5.	Disconnect positive battery cable (5). a. Remove positive terminal screw (2). b. Position positive battery cable (5) out-of-way. c. Remove positive nut (4).
6.	Remove battery.
