REVERSE OPERATION
NOTE
Feature available If the motorcycle has software bundle 10.1.9 with Instrument Module software 5.146.730_20250523 or later versions installed.
This vehicle has a reverse feature. The electric motor can operate in reverse to back the vehicle up. It is set to operate at a slow controllable walking speed. When enabled the reverse feature can only operate when the vehicle is at zero speed and the throttle is twisted forward away from the rider.
NOTE
Reverse should only be used while sitting on the motorcycle.
Reverse can be disabled by simply releasing the throttle.
Reverse may reach its maximum capability while backing up steep grades.
Use caution backing up very steep grades where it is possible to lose balance or the ability for your feet to reach the ground.
Reverse speed is controlled on flat ground but may exceed its preset speed if backing down a steep grade.
Use caution when backing down grades and be ready to apply the brake to maintain a controllable speed.
See Figure 1. Reverse is made available via an "opt-In" selection in the vehicle settings under the Ride Customization menu on the instrument. This settings menu is not available while the vehicle is in a propulsion enabled state, selection must be made prior to operation of the vehicle.
Once the vehicle enters propulsion, reverse function will be available.
To engage reverse, the vehicle must be at zero speed and twist grip rotated forward.
See Figure 2. While reverse function is available, a "R" indicator will illuminate adjacent to the propulsion enabled indicator.
When reverse is available but not engaged an amber "R" will be illuminated.
When reverse is engaged by turning the twist grip forward, the "R" will become green.
To disengage reverse, simply release the twist grip.
