Motor Side Bearing
| 1. | See Figure 1. Clean bearing mounting surface (2) and threads of motor shaft. | |
| 2. | Install new bearing. a. Install thread adapter (1) all the way on motor shaft. Special Tool: REAR FORK BEARING TOOL (LW-53215) NOTE Failure to fully thread adapter on motor shaft will result in a bearing not fully seating. b. See Figure 2. Loosely install bearing (2) on bearing mount. c. Install driver (1), washer (3) and nut (4). d. Hand tighten nut until driver contacts bearing. e. Tighten nut until bearing bottoms out on motor case. f. Remove tool. |

RESS Side Bearing

| 2. | See Figure 4. Install new bearing. a. Install nut (4) and washer (3) on long bolt. Special Tool: STEERING HEAD BEARING RACE INSTALLER (HD-39302) b. Install collet and new bearing on long bolt. c. Thread long bolt into RESS case. d. Turn nut to press in bearing until seated against case. e. Remove tool. |
