If the theft mode is set to ASK, the security system may be manually activated when the key switch is turned to OFF. To change the theft mode to automatically arm the security system, see Controls and Indicators → Instrument Cluster Configuration.

See Controls and Indicators → Disarming the Security System → Arming. Turn the ignition key switch to OFF. If the theft mode is set to ASK, the ENTER PIN message is displayed on the LCD screen for a period of 4 minutes.

NOTE

A countdown timer is displayed during this period. If the correct PIN is not entered within 4 minutes, the LCD screen will power down.

Four dashes are displayed in the odometer. Press the Toggle switch to increment the first digit in the PIN. After a brief pause, the screen will advance to the next digit in the PIN.
Repeat for the remaining three digits in the PIN.

NOTE

A CORRECT PIN message is briefly displayed if the correct PIN is entered. The theft mode indicator starts flashing to show that the security system is armed.
A WRONG PIN message is briefly displayed if an incorrect PIN is entered. The instrument cluster then shows the ENTER PIN message again. If the correct PIN is not entered within 4 minutes after key off, or if 20 incorrect PIN entries are made, the instrument cluster turns off and the security system remains disarmed.
