After the engine is warm, the instantaneous and average fuel consumption values can be displayed.
The average fuel consumption is calculated by dividing the amount of fuel used by the total distance traveled (since the last reset). The average fuel consumption calculation is automatically reset after 8,000 L (2114 USgal) of fuel or a distance of 16,000 km (9942 mi) traveled. The calculation can also be manually reset by the rider as explained below.
The instantaneous fuel consumption is determined by current input from the fuel and distance sensors. The vehicle speed must be at least 10 km/h (6 mph) to display the instantaneous fuel consumption.
- See Figure 1. With engine warm, press the Toggle switch to display the average fuel consumption.
- Press the Toggle switch to display the instantaneous fuel consumption.
NOTE
To reset the average fuel consumption measurement, press and hold the Toggle switch for two seconds while the average fuel consumption is displayed on the screen.
NOTE
- The fuel consumption calculations are not displayed until 10 km (6 mi) have been traveled after a reset.
- Depending on the unit settings, the fuel consumption is displayed as miles per gallon (mpg), miles per gallon Imperial (mpgI), or liters per 100 kilometers (L/100). See Controls and Indicators → Instrument Cluster Configuration to change the unit type.
