Entering and Exiting the Setup Menu
NOTE
  • The setup menu cannot be accessed when the engine is running.
  • The setup menu terminates if the vehicle is started, the ignition key is turned to OFF, or no user input is made for 60 seconds.
  1. Turn ignition key to ON.
  2. If the security system is armed, enter the correct PIN to disarm. See Controls and Indicators → Disarming the Security System.
  3. See Figure 1. Press and hold both the Toggle and Mode switches for five seconds until SETUP MENU is displayed.
  4. Click the Mode switch to advance through the menu items. Press the Toggle switch to select a desired menu item.
  5. To exit the setup menu, click to Mode switch until TOGGLE TO EXIT is displayed. Click the Toggle switch to exit.

Setting Time
  1. With ignition key ON and security system disarmed, enter the setup menu by pressing and holding the Toggle and Mode switches for five seconds.
  2. See Figure 2. Press the Mode switch to advance to the TIME SETTING menu item.
  3. Press the Toggle switch to select the Time Setting menu item.
  4. Set the clock to the current time:
    1. The first two digits begin flashing. Click the Toggle switch to increment the hours to the current time. Click the Mode switch to accept the setting.
    2. The first minutes digit begins flashing. Click the Toggle switch to increment to the current time. Click the Mode switch to accept the setting.
    3. The last minutes digit begins flashing. Click the Toggle switch to increment to the current time. Click the Mode switch to accept the setting.
  5. The setup menu will advance to the next menu item. To exit the setup menu, click the Mode switch until the Exit menu item is displayed. Click the Toggle switch to exit the setup menu.

Resetting the Service Odometer
Refer to Maintenance Scheduling → Regular Service Intervals: Buell Models → Regular Service Intervals: 2010 Buell 1125 Models. A reset causes the service odometer to advance to the next service interval. Any service reminder messages displayed during startup are also cleared.
  1. With ignition key ON and security system disarmed, enter the setup menu by pressing and holding the Toggle and Mode switches for five seconds.
  2. See Figure 3. Press the Mode switch to advance to the SERVICE COUNTER menu item. Press the Toggle switch to select.
  3. Press the Toggle switch to display MODE TO RESET.
  4. NOTE
    Pressing the Toggle switch again will exit the Service Clear menu item without resetting the service odometer. A SERVICE NOT RESET message will be displayed.
  5. To reset the service odometer, press the Mode switch. A SERVICE RESET message is displayed.
  6. The setup menu will advance to the next menu item. To exit the setup menu, click the Mode switch until the Exit menu item is displayed. Click the Toggle switch to exit the setup menu.

Changing the PIN
NOTE
The factory default PIN is 0000. Use this when changing the PIN for the first time.
  1. With ignition key ON and security system disarmed, enter the setup menu by pressing and holding the Toggle and Mode switches for five seconds.
  2. See Figure 4. Press the Mode switch to advance to the PIN SETTING menu item. Press the Toggle switch to select.
  3. Enter the current four-digit PIN.
    1. Four dashes are displayed in the odometer. Press the Toggle switch to increment the first digit in the PIN. After a brief pause, the screen will advance to the next digit in the PIN.
    2. Repeat for the remaining three digits in the PIN.
  4. NOTE
    A CORRECT PIN message is displayed when the correct PIN is entered. A WRONG PIN message is displayed if the PIN is not correct. If the correct PIN is not entered after 20 attempts, the Setup Menu will automatically exit and the PIN will not be changed.
  5. Enter the new PIN.
  6. Re-enter the new PIN to confirm.
  7. NOTE
    If the two new PIN values do not match, the system will prompt again for the new PIN to be entered (and re-entered again for confirmation). If the two new PIN values do not match after 20 attempts, the Setup Menu will automatically exit and the PIN will not be changed.
  8. A confirmation message is displayed when the new PIN is accepted.
  9. The setup menu will advance to the next menu item. To exit the setup menu, click the Mode switch until the Exit menu item is displayed. Click the Toggle switch to exit the setup menu.

  • Record your PIN on the Owner's record card provided in this manual.
  • If PIN is lost or forgotten, see a Buell dealer.

Setting Theft Mode
The theft mode can be set to three different settings:
See Controls and Indicators → Theft Modes for detailed descriptions of these modes.
  1. With ignition key ON and security system disarmed, enter the setup menu by pressing and holding the Toggle and Mode switches for five seconds.
  2. See Figure 5. Press the Mode switch to advance to the THEFT SETTING menu item. Press the Toggle switch to select.
  3. The current theft mode setting is displayed. Click the Toggle switch until the desired theft mode is displayed (ON, OFF, or ASK). Click the Mode switch when the desired mode is displayed.
  4. If setting theft mode has been changed to ON AT KEY OFF, enter the current four-digit PIN.
    1. Four dashes are displayed in the odometer. Press the Toggle switch to increment the first digit in the PIN. After a brief pause, the screen will advance to the next digit in the PIN.
    2. Repeat for the remaining three digits in the PIN.
  5. NOTE
    A CORRECT PIN message is displayed when the correct PIN is entered. A WRONG PIN message is displayed if the PIN is not correct. If the correct PIN is not entered after 20 attempts, the Setup Menu will automatically exit and the theft mode will not be changed.
  6. The new theft setting is enabled and the setup menu will advance to the next menu item. To exit the setup menu, click the Mode switch until the Exit menu item is displayed. Click the Toggle switch to exit the setup menu.

Changing Unit Settings
The instrument cluster can be configured to display information with the following sets of units:
  1. With ignition key ON and security system disarmed, enter the setup menu by pressing and holding the Toggle and Mode switches for five seconds.
  2. See Figure 6. Press the Mode switch to advance to the UNIT SETTING menu item. Press the Toggle switch to select.
  3. The current unit setting is displayed. Click the Toggle switch until the desired unit setting is displayed. Click the Mode switch to select the desired setting.
  4. The setup menu will advance to the next menu item. To exit the setup menu, click the Mode switch until the Exit menu item is displayed. Click the Toggle switch to exit the setup menu.

Changing 12/24-Hour Clock Mode
  1. With ignition key ON and security system disarmed, enter the setup menu by pressing and holding the Toggle and Mode switches for five seconds.
  2. See Figure 7. Press the Mode switch to advance to the CLOCK 12/24 menu item. Press the Toggle switch to select.
  3. The current clock mode is displayed. Click the Toggle switch until the desired setting is displayed (12 HOUR or 24 HOUR). Click the Mode switch to select the setting.
  4. The setup menu will advance to the next menu item. To exit the setup menu, click the Mode switch until the Exit menu item is displayed. Click the Toggle switch to exit the setup menu.
