Be sure all personnel are notified that the vehicle is an EV containing High Voltage. Only properly trained personnel should move and transport the vehicle for service or storage. Always wear proper PPE when working with a possible damaged vehicle. See Work Environment → Personal Protective Equipment.
Approach the vehicle from the rear at a 45º angle. Never approach the vehicle from the front. Stay out of the path of potential travel. Make sure the vehicle is disabled. See the vehicle Service Manual.
NOTE
It may not be possible to estimate the full extent of damage. The high voltage battery could ignite at anytime up to 24 hours or more after being damaged. If any smoke, sparks, flames, gurgling or bubbling sounds are noticed at anytime during handling, immediately evacuate the area and call emergency responders.
Do not use metal components, such as chains and slings, to move, transport or secure vehicle. To avoid the chance of further damage, if the vehicle will not roll do not push or drag the vehicle. The vehicle should be lifted and transported in an upright position. Ensure that the vehicle is properly secured to hold it in the upright position during transportation or storage.
