1. Check Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS)State of Charge (SOC). Charge if required. See Before Riding → Charging Motorcycle.
2. Adjust mirrors to proper riding positions. See Before Riding → Adjusting Mirrors.
3. Check brake fluid level. See Maintenance and Lubrication → Checking Brake Fluid Level and Changing Brake Fluid.
4. Inspect brake pads and discs for wear. See Maintenance and Lubrication → Inspecting Brake Pads and Discs.
5. Check the hand and foot controls to be sure they are operating properly. Operate the front and rear brakes and throttle. See Operation.
6. Inspect brake lines for wear or damage. See Maintenance and Lubrication → Checking Systems for Leaks or Abrasions
7. Check steering for smoothness by turning the handlebar through the full operating range.
WARNING
Be sure tires are properly inflated, balanced, undamaged, and have adequate tread. Inspect your tires regularly and see a LiveWire dealer for replacements. Riding with excessively worn, unbalanced, improperly inflated, overloaded or damaged tires can lead to tire failure and adversely affect stability and handling, which could result in death or serious injury. 8. Check tire condition, pressure and motorcycle loading. Refer to Before Riding → Checking Tire Pressure and Inspecting Tires for correct tire inflation pressure and motorcycle weight allowances.
9. Check suspension front and rear pre-load settings. Adjust to motorcycle loading, if necessary. Refer to Before Riding → Suspension Adjustments, Before Riding → Adjusting Rear Shock Absorbers and Before Riding → Adjusting Front Shock Absorbers.
10. Check for any fluid leaks. See Maintenance and Lubrication → Checking Systems for Leaks or Abrasions.
11. Check drive belt for wear or damage. See Maintenance and Lubrication → Check Drive Belt Deflection.
WARNING
Be sure headlamp, tail and stop lamp and turn signals are operating properly before riding. Poor visibility of rider to other motorists can result in death or serious injury. (00478b)
12. Check all electrical equipment and switches including the headlamp, tail and stop lamp, turn signals and horn for proper operation.
13. Service your motorcycle as necessary. See Service Intervals and Records → Service Records.
