1.	Remove top cover. See Chassis → TOP COVER.
2.	Remove rear cover. See Chassis → REAR COVER.
3.	Deactivate electrical system. See Electrical → POWER DISCONNECT.
4.	Raise rear wheel. See Secure the Motorcycle for Service in Maintenance → GENERAL.
5.	Remove tensioner pulley. See Electric Vehicle Powertrain (EVPT) → TENSIONER PULLEY AND IDLER SPROCKET.
6.	Check wheel bearing end play. See Chassis → SEALED WHEEL BEARINGS.
7.	NOTE Do not operate rear brake lever with rear brake caliper removed. Without the rotor, brake pressure forces the pistons out of the piston bores. Seating pistons requires caliper disassembly. Detach rear brake caliper from rear fork. See Chassis → REAR BRAKE CALIPER.
